The Master
A story of a Clash between Jekyll and Hyde
Are you one of those serious movie watchers who love drama and like to watch movies that are more based on reality rather than fiction, then The Master will prove to be the right type of an entertainer for you. Directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, The Master movie 2k is yet another gem in the crown of movies directed by him.
It has Joaquin Phoenix and Philip Seymour Hoffman in its lead cast. Joaquin is playing the role if a World War 2 veteran (Freddie Quell), who has come back home and is very uncertain about his future.
While Hoffman is seen as being a charismatic leader (Lancaster Dodd) of a philosophical movement referred to as “The Cause” in the movie.
The plot goes around as Freddie being a drifter sort of a person who keeps on switching jobs due to his disturbing nature and his habit of mixing different harmful fluids thus getting him fired most of the times.
Freddie is found by Dodd after being stowed away on a yacht after being too drunk. Dodd decides to keep him and does not abandon him as he wishes to help him out.
The movie is basically a clash between two people of opposite personalities, one being too violent and other being too humble.
The movies 2k goes along with both the characters often question themselves about whether to keep the other around or not.
Anderson has somehow kept his anti-social character alive in this one just like his previous movies. But the story is however quite a different one.
